LEWISTON — Four local students graduated May 27 from Bates College.

Riley Hopkins, of Augusta, graduated after majoring in dance and psychology at Bates. Hopkins, the son of Mr. and Mrs. David P. Hopkins, of Augusta, is a 2014 graduate of Cony High School.

Daniel Aldrich, of Skowhegan, graduated after majoring in economics. Aldrich, the son of Jennifer Roberts-Aldrich, of Skowhegan, and Lance L. Aldrich, of Southampton, New York, is a 2014 graduate of Skowhegan Area High School.

Dylan Thombs, of Monmouth, graduated after majoring in environmental studies and minoring in education. Thombs, the son of Mr. Norman R. Thombs and Katherine L. Perless, of Monmouth, is a 2014 graduate of Monmouth Academy.

Cat Ouellette, of Winthrop, graduated after majoring in politics and minoring in mathematics. Ouellette, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. Ouellette, of Winthrop, is a 2014 graduate of Winthrop High School.

They were among the 473 students that graduated from 39 states and 42 countries. Cumulatively, the class of 2018 performed 82,000 hours of community service, exemplifying Bates’ commitment to community learning and civic action.
