I am very disturbed about this new way of voting. This paper came out with the headline of “Ranked-choice vote worked as promised” shortly after the votes were finally tabulated. Perhaps I missed something, but I have yet to read how much was spent to count all those extra ballots in this new, supposedly wonderful way of voting. Did the ballot clerks work for more than a week without getting paid?

Another thing I don’t like is the tricky way the ballots are sometimes written so that a no means yes, and yes means no. I admit that I’m old fashioned, but in days gone by a yes or no was very clear.
