AUGUSTA — A former city woman will spend an initial 18 months behind bars for dealing drugs directly to an officer of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Jaci Annemarie Beane, 24, now of Farmingdale, pleaded guilty Tuesday at the Capital Judicial Center to four counts of unlawful trafficking in drugs — heroin, cocaine and cocaine base — all on Feb. 2 and Feb. 6, 2018, and violating conditions of release March 5, 2018, all in Augusta, as well as a separate court of unlawful possession of clonazepam that occurred March 12, 2017, in Waterville. She also was fined $400.
The remainder of her five-year term was ordered suspended while she spends two years on probation.
An affidavit filed with the case indicates she responded to the officer’s texts in February and told him where to pick up the drugs, sometimes handing them over directly to him.
In exchange for Beane’s plea, four counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs were dismissed.
Conditions of probation ban Beane from contact with several co-defendants who were arrested with her when police searched a property on Crosby Street Place.
