Dresden Summerfest, fun for all ages, is planned from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at the Pownalborough Court House in Dresden.

The event will include Sea Shanties by Roll and Go, Dresden Elementary School Pep Band, sing-along with Dresden’s Accordion Dude, horse-drawn carriage rides by Hideaway Farms and Andrew Silver, strolling variety entertainment. Also, tours of the Courthouse and adjacent nature trails, a goat petting zoo, pie judging contest with proceeds donated to the Richmond Food Pantry, Abenaki Nation Fish River Singer performing traditional dance and song, and kids and adult games including egg toss, hay scramble, one-legged races and bean bag toss. There also will be face painting and balloon tying and Tai Chi demonstrations.

Dresden Fire Department will hold a burgers and hotdog barbecue, or people can bring their own picnic lunch.

Spirit of America Awards presentation also is planned for community groups and local businesses, and more.

The event is sponsored by Dresden Recreation Committee, Lincoln County Historical Association and the Kenyon Fund.
