READFIELD — The Readfield Union Meeting House at 22 Church St., will host is Second annual Strawberry Festival from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 7, on the front lawn.

This festival was revived last year by the RUMH Board as a community activity. For $5 people will receive a generous portion of locally grown strawberries and real whipped cream on a biscuit. Iced tea, lemonade or bottled water are included in the price. Tables and chairs will be placed on the lawn to relax and enjoy the company of family, friends and neighbors. This can be a chance to entertain those out-of-town guests that are here for the Fourth of July week. New this year, the members will sell shortcake to go.

RUMH’s homemade pie sale will be going on at the same time. The locally homemade dessert is $15.

If rain, the festival will be held at the Maple Tree Community School which is two doors down from the Readfield Union Meeting House.

The Big White Barn is this year’s sponsor.
