A 44-year-old Limington man has been charged with unlawful operation of a methamphetamine lab.
York County sheriff’s deputies went to 2 Wenzhou Road Thursday to arrest Patrick Gomes on an outstanding warrant charging him with failure to appear in court. When they arrived, they saw Gomes try to hide something under a bed, according to Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety. Deputies arrested Gomes on the warrant and found he was hiding a container for making methamphetamine.
On Friday, agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency returned to the scene and located three more containers, as well as other evidence related to making meth.
Gomes was charged with unlawful operation of a meth lab and is being held at York County Jail on $25,000 bail.
According to McCausland, additional arrests are expected.
