WORCESTER, Mass. — Shalahn Staten, of Clinton, has become a member of Alpha Kappa Delta, the international honor society in sociology, according to a news release from the Assumption College Department of Sociology, Criminology and Anthropology. Staten, a senior, was inducted into the honor society this spring.

“Students named to Assumption College’s chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to and mastery of their academic studies,” said Louise Carroll Keeley, provost and vice president of academic affairs at the college, according to a news release. “Earning membership to an honor society is among the highest academic recognitions for an undergraduate.”
