A Connecticut man was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years in prison on drugs and gun charges.
Erick Adams, 40, of Taftville, Connecticut, was sentenced in Portland by U.S. District Court Judge George Z. Singal after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute, and possession with intent to distribute, 280 grams or more of crack cocaine, and being an armed career criminal in possession of firearms. Adams was also sentenced to five years of supervised release.
According to authorities, Adams and others distributed crack, cocaine and heroin in Biddeford, using a storage unit to hold the drugs and firearms. On Jan. 6, 2016, he and a co-conspirator were arrested in a hotel room in Saco, where drugs and about $26,000 in cash were seized. The next day, agents seized more drugs and four handguns from the storage unit. Adams has previous felony convictions and was prohibited from possessing firearms.
Adams pleaded guilty to the charges in June 2017.
