MANCHESTER, N.H. — Vladimir Guerrero Jr. homered twice and drove in five runs, and Cavan Biggio added a solo home run Monday night as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats beat the Portland Sea Dogs, 10-2.

Guerrero smacked a three-run homer in the first inning for New Hampshire (18-9). The Fisher Cats added three in the fourth to make it 6-0.

Portland (7-19) scored in the fifth when Conrad Gregor hit a two-run homer, driving in Jhon Nunez.

Biggio hit a solo homer in the bottom of the fifth, then Guerrero added a two-run shot in the sixth.

Tyler Thornburg, who is continuing his major league rehab assignment with Portland, pitched a scoreless seventh inning, striking out one and walking one.

The Sea Dogs will continue a three-game series Tuesday night against the Fisher Cats, then return to Portland for five games in four days against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, beginning with a doubleheader at 5 p.m. Thursday before returning to the road.

Thornburg, 29, has yet to pitch for Boston since being acquired from Milwaukee before the 2017 season for corner infielder Travis Shaw and two minor leaguers – shortstop Mauricio Dubon and pitcher Josh Pennington. Troubled with shoulder pain, Thornburg underwent thoracic outlet surgery last year.

Thornburg made three rehab appearances with Triple-A Pawtucket, totaling 22/3 innings (two hits, no earned runs, two walks and five strikeouts).

Pawtucket is on the road until next Monday, so Thornburg remained in New England, joining the Sea Dogs.

It’s not clear how many appearances Thornburg is scheduled to make with Portland.
