The 10th annual Battle of the Badges basketball game between the Waterville Fire Department and the Waterville Police Department will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Alfond Youth Center, 126 North St. in Waterville. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

There will be half-time entertainment and Teen Center members will make baked goods to sell at the event.

Sponsors for the event include the South End Neighborhood Association; Eric’s Restaurant; CGI; Advance 1 Cleaning Services; Cappza’s Pizza; and Ferris, Gurney and Grant & Crook PA. The Alfond Youth Center, KVCAP and the center’s partner, donated the use of its facility.

All proceeds will benefit the South End Teen Center, a satellite center of the Waterville Area Boys and Girls Club and a program of the Kennebec Valley Community Action Program.

Tickets cost $5, children younger than 10 will be admitted free. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling 873-5621 or at the door on game night.
