A New Hampshire woman was arrested Saturday evening after she entered a home in Cornish uninvited and became belligerent with the residents, according to the York County sheriff.
In a statement Sunday, Sheriff William L. King Jr. described the events that took place while three residents were seated in the living area of their home.
According to King, one of them heard a knock on the door. Moments later an intoxicated woman entered the living room.
“None of the residents were familiar with the woman, who in addition to being intoxicated, appeared disoriented. She was also complaining about the cold,” King said.
At that point, one of the residents contacted the sheriff’s office. But while waiting for a deputy to arrive, the woman, identified as 57-year-old Sandra Perry of Sandown, New Hampshire, became aggressive, according to King. He said Perry got into a resident’s face and started to yell and scream.
King said the residents were forced to restrain her until deputies arrived. Perry was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing, but refused to sign the police summons. She was then charged with refusing to sign a criminal summons.
Perry posted $500 cash bail and was released from the York County Jail. She is scheduled to appear in Springvale District Court at 8:15 a.m. May 29, King said.
