Jake Craig, Skowhegan freshman, 106: Following in the footsteps of his brother, Cody, who won the Class A title at 106 pounds four straight seasons from 2014-17, Jake Craig dominated this season. He won the state championship and New England qualifier and placed third at the New England championships.

Noah Dumas, Cony junior, 113: Dumas earns the nod over Class A champ and top rival Alden Shields of Kennebunk. Dumas compiled a 45-4 record, and his only in-state loss was to Shields (32-5) in the Class A final, 3-2. Dumas beat Shields twice, including the New England qualifier final, 6-4.

Joshua Cote, Noble freshman, 120: One of the top young wrestlers in the state, Cote won the Class A title and New England qualifier and finished a 43-6 season by placing fifth at the New England championships. His only loss to a Maine wrestler was to teammate Sam Martel at 126.

Sam Martel, Noble sophomore, 126: Moving up from 106 as a freshman, Martel won the Class A South title and New England qualifier, avenging his state meet loss to Liam Coomey of Marshwood in the latter meet. Martel was 37-10 this season.

Samson Sirois, Skowhegan senior, 132: A repeat All-State pick, Sirois earned his 200th career victory when he won his second Class A title. Sirois was 59-2 this season, with both losses at the New England championships, and finished his career 206-25 with 101 pins.

Mark Ward, Mt. View sophomore, 138: The Class B champion beat Class A champ David Spinney of Marshwood 2-0 in overtime in the New England qualifier final, then defeated him 4-3 at the New England championships. Ward was 47-4 overall, with two losses to Skowhegan’s Samson Sirois.

Noah Lang, Camden Hills junior, 145: Lang did not lose to an in-state wrestler and finished with a 46-3 record, 25 pins and his first Class A title. He also won the New England qualifier. Lang is 148-18 in his career with 84 pins.

Quinton Richards, Nokomis junior, 152: Richards won regional, state and New England qualifier titles during a 36-3 season despite injuring his elbow in the Class A semifinals. His lone loss before New Englands was to Dawson Stevens of Oxford Hills at 160 pounds.

Dawson Stevens, Oxford Hills senior, 160: Stevens is the pick over David Wilson of Nokomis based on a better overall record and his victory in the Class A state meet. Stevens finished 48-4 and won the KVAC championship, earning most outstanding wrestler honors.

Sam Anderson, Sanford senior, 170: The repeat All-State pick moved up one weight class and continued to improve. He won Class A and New England qualifier titles and placed second at the New England championships in compiling a 40-1 season record. He broke Sanford’s all-time wins record, finishing 159-41.

Ryan Fredette, Winslow senior, 182: Finished a 49-0 season with a New England championship. He pinned his final two opponents at New England and was named the most outstanding wrestler. A four-time Class B champion and repeat All-State selection, Fredette was 200-17 in his career.

Nic Mills, Cony junior, 195: Mills was the runaway force at 195 this season, compiling a 42-0 record against in-state competition with Class A and New England titles. He finished with a 44-2 record after going 2-2 at the New England championships. Mills has a career record of 115-25.

Nolan Potter, Wells senior, 220: A repeat All-State selection, Potter moved up one weight class and went undefeated against Maine competition for a second straight season. He was 41-2, winning Class B and New England qualifier titles, and finished 157-35 in his career.

Jakob Peavey, Erskine Academy senior, 285: Won the Class A and New England qualifier titles and went 3-2 at the New England championships, placing fourth. He finished 59-3 this season with 45 pins, and was 161-37 with 116 pins in his career.

Coach of the Year

Scott Preble, Nokomis: Preble guided the Warriors to their first regional title, winning against a competitive Class A North field. Nokomis finished third at the state meet and won the Noble Invitational. “He’s accomplished a lot with not very many people. Scott has devoted his life to that team,” said Cony Coach Shawn Totman.
