FAIRFIELD — The Kennebec Montessori School recently completed construction of a new wing to make room for its expansion to sixth grade.
The new space was designed by Phi Architects of Rockport, and built by Nichols Construction of Bangor, according to a news release from the school. With the addition of two classrooms, an art space, teacher’s prep area and storage space, the school now has room to grow.
The school now serves more than 120 children ages 3-12, offering preschool, kindergarten and elementary programs. The new addition will be on view from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 17, during the upcoming Open House and Registration Day, at 38 Sheridan Drive.
The school is accredited by the American Montessori Society.
At the event, prospective parents and children can explore the classrooms, try the hands-on materials, meet the teachers and talk to parents of current students about their experience.
Applications for 2018-19 academic year will be accepted beginning March 17. Parents are encouraged to schedule a classroom observation by calling 453-6055.
