AUGUSTA — Capital Area Technical Center recently announced the following students were named January Students of the Month.
Beau Baker is a senior from Monmouth Academy enrolled in the computer technology program.
Baker has liked exploring the different aspects of computers. He is especially interested in 3-D models, video game design and programming. His instructor, Mike Fraser said, “Beau is always a pleasure to have in class, always willing to put the work in and always professional. I can’t wait to see him succeed in the industry and what path he finally sets his focus on,” according to a news release from the center.
In his spare time, Baker likes to explore and play video games. In the future, he plan is to work in the computer field.
Skyler Larochelle is a senior from Hall-Dale High School enrolled in the auto tech, level 2 program.
Larochelle has enjoyed the hands-on aspects of the program. His instructor, Keith Hart said, “Skyler has what it takes to have a successful career in the automotive field,” according to the release.
When he is not in school, Larochelle does body work at Refinishing Solutions in Durham. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a career in automotive repair.
