Museum L-A in Lewiston is looking to honor all veterans in a new temporary exhibit in its main gallery space. The exhibit celebrates the veterans’ fight, struggle, and patriotism during the wars as well as speaks to the history of Bates Mill in reference to war time.

The museum wants to give family, friends and the community the opportunity to honor these men and women who have fought for this country.

The museum is accepting photos from all branches of the military and all conflicts. It especially wants to collect photos from veterans of the Vietnam War and beyond to ensure that no generation of veterans is forgotten.

Museum L-A will accept photographs of veterans between noon and 4 p.m. Wednesdays and noon and 3 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 30. Those who cannot make it to the museum during those hours, call 2333-3881 to set up an appointment to bring in a photograph at another time. The museum plans to incorporate scans of the donated photos into the exhibit on display throughout the months of November and December.

Each donor will be limited to one photo per veteran. The photos can be of oneself, a family member or loved one, or a friend to honor on the Honor Wall for their service to this country.

Museum L-A’s hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Special tour requests and large group tours outside of these hours are available by appointment.

Museum L-A is in the Bates Mill Complex at 35 Canal St. For more information, contact info@museumla.org or call 333-3881.
