FAIRFIELD — Sheridan Construction Corp., which employs more than 120 people and has built more than 3,000 structures in the Northeast, announced new owners and management Thursday in a news release.

Mitchell Sammons, an executive in the company since 1982, has taken on the role of company president, while Daniel Wildes, vice president of construction since 1989, will be senior vice president and chief operating officer.

Sammons and Wildes also have assumed ownership of the Sheridan companies, according to the release.

The news comes shortly after Bradley Nelson announced he was retiring from his leadership role in the company.

Sammons has worked in the construction industry for more than 45 years. He graduated from the University of Maine and started his career with the Eichleay Corp. in Pittsburgh.

Wildes graduated from the Wentworth Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in architectural engineering.

In 1947, Sheridan Construction Corp. was the official Butler Builder for Maine, joining a network of professionals, according to the company’s website. In 1958, Lyle Cutchin bought the company and moved its headquarters to the Waterville area.

Nelson, Sammons, Wildes and Lyle’s son, Doug Cutchin, all led the company as partners for more than two decades.

The company provides all methods of construction delivery services, but specializes in the design and build approach in commercial, industrial and institutional building construction.
