JACKMAN/MOOSE RIVER — Carson Veilleux, a Forest Hills High School junior, was approved at the May District Board of Director’s meeting to serve as the 2017/18 student representative to the school board.
In this capacity, Veilleux will be expected to read and review all board documents prior to each meeting, elicit input from the student body, represent the views of the student body and respond to board member requests for advisement on student related matters, to name a few. To earn this spot, Veilleux met the requirements for application and was elected by the student body to serve them.
Veilleux also will increase his knowledge of government by attending the 70th annual Dirigo Boys State at Thomas College June 18-22.
Veilleux is in the top of his class academically and enrolls in the most rigorous classes including Advanced Placement. He was inducted into the National Honor Society as a sophomore. He is a three-sport athlete in golf, basketball and baseball. He is a member of several clubs and active in student government.
