BUDGET: Residents voted to approve the municipal budget of $658,696, an increase of $103,598 or 18.7 percent over the previous budget. The increase was mostly due to a new, annual $100,000 bond payment the town approved last year for paving projects.

MAJOR ITEMS APPROVED: Town Clerk Rebecca Gray said all items in the town warrant passed during the meeting. Major items included appropriating an extra $50,000 from the paving accounts to pay down the bond more quickly, granting the selectmen permission to exercise an option with the Penobscot Energy Recovery Co. and sell back the town’s share of it for $4,474, and authorizing the town to enter into an agreement with PERC for solid waste disposal in 2018.

MAJOR ITEMS REJECTED: None.

ATTENDANCE: Gray said about 40 people attended the March 18 Town Meeting.

CONTESTED ELECTIONS: There was one contested election in Plymouth.

In the race for Fire Chief, Gerald Sawtelle Jr. won with 65 votes against Christopher Roberts, who had 19 votes, and write-in candidate Arrin Farrar, who had 23 votes. None were incumbents

In the race for First Selectman, incumbent Adam Temple won re-election with 102 votes. There were two votes for write-in candidate Linda Seavey.

In the race for Second Selectman, incumbent Michael Grass Jr. won re-election with 91 votes. There were 11 votes for write-in candidate Reed Farrar and one for Matthew Dean.

In the race for Third Selectman, incumbent Linda Seavey won re-election with 100 votes. There were four votes for write-in candidate Reed Farrar and one for Karl Fraser.

In the race for Road Commissioner, incumbent Douglas Colson won re-election with 104 votes.

REFERENDUMS: There were no referendum questions.

BUDGET: Residents voted to approve the municipal budget of $783,595.

MAJOR ITEMS APPROVED: Town Clerk Doreen Berry said most items in the town warrant passed during the meeting. Major items included raising and appropriating $30,000 to repair the Town Farm and Bailey Road Triangle, and another $70,000 plus a $55,000 bond to pave and improve Dolloff Road.

MAJOR ITEMS REJECTED: An article was rejected to appropriate $12,000 from undesignated funds for an electronic sign in front of the Town Hall.

ATTENDANCE: Berry said 57 people attended the March 18 Town Meeting.

CONTESTED ELECTIONS: There were no contested elections in Albion.

In the race for First Selectman, incumbent Larry Ward won re-election with 14 votes. There was one vote for a write-in candidate.

In the race for Second Selectman, incumbent Robert Carter won re-election with 15 votes.

In the race for Third Selectman, incumbent Larry Hustus won re-election with 14 votes.

REFERENDUMS: There were no referendum questions.
