WATERVILLE — Cecilia Morin, a Waterville Senior High School senior, has been selected to receive the 2017 Principal’s Award, Principal Brian Laramee recently announced in a news release.

The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic excellence, outstanding school citizenship and leadership.

“Cecilia has been an outstanding school citizen at Waterville Senior High School. She has excelled not only in the classroom but also in extra/co-curricular activities. Cecilia has completed many Advanced Placement and honors level courses all while maintaining a 98.2 grade point average. She is a member of the Science Olympiad Team, National Honor Society, and has been a valuable member of our cross country, indoor track and outdoor track teams,” Laramee said in the release.

Morin is the daughter of Brian and Jacqueline Morin.

She will attend an honors luncheon at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor on Saturday, April 1 with other award winners and their principals. The luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the drawing of ten $1,000 scholarships.

The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 125 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
