A Franklin County woman was arrested Monday for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana after losing control of her car, with a juvenile passenger in the vehicle, and rolling over on Sanborn Hill Road in Chesterville, police said.

Tiffany Gerrish, 44, of Chesterville, was arrested on a charge of operating under the influence after admitting having used marijuana before getting into the crash around 4:30 p.m., Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols said.

Gerrish was traveling on Caldwell Road when she went through the intersection with Sanborn Hill Road, losing control of the car. The person who reported the crash said Sanborn had a juvenile with her at the time of the accident.

Both people in the car were unharmed, Nichols said.

Nichols did not respond immediately to questions about the juvenile’s age or gender.

During the investigation, Gerrish admitted to Deputy Brian McCormick that she had used marijuana before the crash. McCormick also said he could smell alcohol on Gerrish’s breath, according to Nichols.
