I still enjoy reading the printed page and appreciate that this newspaper has highlighted positive articles more often and made efforts to improve the layout.

However, why do news outlets, including this one, think it appropriate to display the picture of any person involved in a crime? Suspects or criminals deserve no minutes of infamy, so please resolve to stop providing them. Robberies, accidents, assaults, as well as political bias or useless drama, need not be the main focus, because so much media negativity dulls our sensitivities. These things are important but should not be highlighted on the front pages unless critical.

There are many positive things that happen all around us that are interesting, useful and news worthy, providing a much better read. Happy New Year!
