Itās going to feel like winter this weekend and will likelyĀ look like winter by Monday. The weather is tranquil on Saturday and Sunday, with no chance of precipitation but there willĀ cold temperatures across New England.
All of the forecasting will be about a weather system on Monday. It appears very likely there will be some snowĀ perhaps ending with some mixed precipitation along the coast depending on the track of the storm. Ā Right now this event isnāt looking major. Ā I would say most of us will stay under the 6 inch mark in terms of snowfall. Ā However, itās only Friday morning and things can change a bit in terms of where the heaviest snow falls and the timing of the snow.
I would plan on delayed travel during parts of Monday. The timing of the storm will probably changeĀ over the next few days, so stay tuned to my latest forecasts.
The snow will end Monday evening andĀ winter cold will follow for the rest of next week. Ā Winter is here folks, ready or not.
Before then, hereās what you can expect for the weekend ahead.
If youāre skiingā¦
Many ski resorts in MaineĀ are now open with fresh new snow from this past week blanketing several areas. It will be a cold one, especially on Saturday in the mountains, which will see single digitsĀ in the early morning and only teens Ā by the afternoon in the highest elevations, with 20s elsewhere.
If youāre going hiking, biking, or runningā¦
You will notice the cold this weekend for sure. Saturday and Sunday morning bring single numbers and teens toĀ the region, which makes for a pretty cold hike, run, or bike ride.Ā The good news? Wind chill wonāt be much of an issue.
If youāre playing field gamesā¦
Both days will feature dry weather, but snow likely putsĀ an end to field games this coming week. Stay tuned.
If youāre raking and gardeningā¦
Most folksĀ have completed raking, but you should putĀ in snow stakes along your driveway this weekend. The ground may already be too frozen to do this without some muscle.
If youāre running errands and holiday shoppingā¦
No weather issues this weekend, so go continue to put a dentĀ onĀ some holiday shopping.
