WATERVILLE — A city man is charged with drunken driving after allegedly striking both a parked car and a house early Saturday morning, police said.

Joshua R. Perkins, 26, of 3 Linden St., Waterville, was arrested on a charge of operating a vehicle under the influence with one prior offense, a Class D misdemeanor, and a charge of operating a vehicle after a license suspension for an OUI, a Class E misdemeanor.

When police arrived at the scene at 1 Kelsey St. after getting a call at 12:42 a.m., officers allegedly found that Perkins had scraped along the side of the house and hit the porch. The accident caused damage to the foundation and leakage from the oil tank of the house.

Perkins failed field sobriety tests, according to Deputy Chief Bill Bonney, allegedly having a blood-alcohol level of 0.19, which is more than twice the legal limit for driving of 0.08.

Perkins was driving a 2001 BMW 3-Series that morning when he allegedly hit a parked 2013 Buick Regal before striking the residence.

Perkins was released after making $500 unsecured bail.
