Free ME from Lung Cancer held its third annual auction, dinner and dance Oct. 15 at Le Club Calumet in Augusta.

The theme was a Texas Roundup. The event raised more than $25,000. Deb Violette, president and CEO, stated the organization will be able to fund its first lung cancer research proposal of $100,000.

Violette said that the board will be researching facilities to invest in the best research possible. Denny Breau and the Texas Tumbleweeds band put on a show after the auction.
