Four people were arrested in two separate fistfights, one at a wedding, that kept Auburn police busy Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

Police Sgt. Christopher Hatfield said Arbai Abdi, 18, of Lewiston and three juveniles were arrested after a fight broke out at a wedding at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall at 588 Minot Ave.

Hatfield said police arrived at the hall about 11:37 p.m. to find about 10 people fighting outside in the parking lot with a large crowd watching. Hatfield said the crowd then turned on the six Auburn police officers and four Lewiston police officers who responded to the scene before the officers managed to dispel the crowd.

Hatfield said no one was seriously hurt in the fight.

Abdi was charged with disorderly conduct. She was being held Sunday on $110 bail at the Androscoggin County Jail. The three juveniles, all charged with disorderly conduct, were released to their parents.

Auburn police were called out at 1 a.m. Sunday to another fight at the Sapphire Nightclub and Event Center at 150 Center St., where they arrested Jonathan Mercier, 29, of Auburn. He was charged with disorderly conduct and domestic violence assault. Hatfield said Mercier assaulted his ex-wife and her new husband. No one was seriously hurt, Hatfield said.

Mercier was released on bail.
