The Lincoln County Historical Association will host a party, Kermess, from the Dutch word, meaning an outdoor fundraising festival. The event is set for 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at the Foye-Sortwell Farm in Wiscasset. Proceeds will be used for building maintenance and educational outreach activities.
A traditional lobster bake will include potatoes, corn, and clams and more. Ribeye steak or South American vegetarian options will be available. Pan Fried Steel, a community band from Yarmouth, will provide the music.
A silent auction of antiques donated by local dealers and a sale of raffle tickets for gift certificates with values up to $100 donated by more than a dozen Lincoln County restaurants.
Kermess tickets cost $50 each, raffle tickets cost $5 each or $20 for five. For tickets, visit www.lincolncountyhistory.org or call 882-6817; seating is limited. Tickets must be purchased in advance. You need not be present to win a raffle prize.
