FARMINGTON — Food preservation is the focus of a hands-on University of Maine Cooperative Extension workshop set for 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at the UMaine Extension office, 138 Pleasant St., Suite 1.
Kate McCarty, UMaine Extension food preservation community education assistant, will cover basics of canning and freezing, including how to use hot water bath canners to preserve vegetables. Fresh produce and canning jars will be provided. Participants are asked to bring a potholder.
The $20 fee will include materials. To register, visit extension.umaine.edu.
