Aaron Wilkerson and Chandler Shepherd combined for a shutout as the Portland Sea Dogs beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 2-0 Monday night at Hadlock Field.

A Rainel Rosario RBI single and Nate Freiman home run accounted for the Sea Dogs scoring.

Wilkerson (2-1) went 71/3 innings, allowing two hits and striking out eight. His ERA dropped to 1.37. Shepherd earned his fourth save, allowing one hit over 12/3 innings.

Andrew Benintendi, the top Red Sox outfield prospect, made his Double-A debut, going 0 for 4 with one strikeout.

The two teams play again at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
