MADISON — The Madison baseball team jumped out to a 3-0 lead then held off Dirigo late to grab a 3-2 victory in a Mountain Valley Conference game Tuesday afternoon.

Ryan Emery doubled to pace the Bulldogs (5-0).

Chase Thebarge went 1 for 3 to lead the Cougars (3-2).

CARRABEC 10, WISCASSET 0, 6 innings: Dustin Crawford threw a no-hitter with one walk and six strikeouts to lead the Cobras to the MVC win in North Anson.

Crawford walked Darren Wood in the fourth inning. Wood was caught stealing, so Crawford faced the minimum 18 hitters.

Hunter Fernald drove in three runs for Carrabec (3-2). Wiscasset fell to 2-3.

SKOWHEGAN 6, HAMPDEN 5: Will Stinson, Kyle Dugas and Brendan Curran each had two hits to lead the Indians to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A victory in Skowhegan.

Curran pitched five innings to earn the victory for Skowhegan (4-2) as well.

Brandon Smith had two singles for Hampden (3-3).

WINSLOW 6, MORSE 2: Jake Trask struck out 11 and didn’t allow an earned run as Winslow defeated Morse in a KVAC matchup played in Winslow.

Trask allowed three hits while going the distance for the Black Raiders (4-0). Dameron Roderigue led the offense with two singles and two runs batted in, while Pat Hopkins added a single, double and RBI.

RANGELEY 15-18, FOREST HILLS 12-8: Bo Beaulieu had seven hits over two games to help the Lakers to the East/West Conference doubleheader sweep in Jackman.

In game one, Beaulieu went 4 for 5 as the Lakers (2-1) won a slugfest. Trailing 15-7, Forest Hills (0-5) scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to make it close.

In game two, Rangeley scored seven runs in the fourth inning and six more in the sixth to take the win. Ricky Thompson had three hits for the Lakers. Dalton Gregoire and Aaron Moffitt each had two hits for the Tigers.

SOFTBALL

MADISON 14, DIRIGO 0: Winning pitcher Madeline Wood drove in five runs to lead the Bulldogs to the MVC victory in Madison. Erin Whalen and Aly LeBlanc each drove in a pair of runs for Madison (5-0), while Ashley Emery had four hits for the victors.

Dirigo dropped to 2-3.

CARRABEC 18, WISCASSET 0, 5 innings: Bailey Dunphy had two singles, three RBIs and stole four bases to lead the Cobras to the MVC victory in North Anson.

Lexi Cowan doubled, tripled and drove in three runs while Liberty Chestnut had two RBIs and three stolen bases for Carrabec (2-3).

Wiscasset dropped to 1-4.

ERSKINE 5, MARANACOOK 2: Taylor McLaggan had two hits and MacKenzie Gayer doubled to lead the Eagles to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B victory in Readfield.

Kayla Hodgkins pitched the complete game, allowing eight hits, to earn the victory for Erskine (3-2).

Lindsy Hilton had three hits to lead the Black Bears (1-5).

NOKOMIS 17, WATERVILLE 4, 5 innings: Winning pitcher Libby Dunivan had two doubles and a single as the Warriors cruised to the KVAC B victory in Waterville.

Aren Herrick had three singles and Austin Leighton had two to pace Nokomis (4-2) as well. Waterville dropped to 1-5.

WINSLOW 16, MORSE 0, 5 innings: The Black Raiders scored eight runs in the first inning to take the KVAC B win in Winslow.

Kiana Richards hit a double, triple and drove in three runs. Sarah Guimond added three hits, two RBIs and three runs scored for Winslow (4-0). Bailey Robbins also had three hits for the Black Raiders.

Sierra Wallace and Rosie Varian each singled for Morse (3-2).

RANGELEY 12-9, FOREST HILLS 8-10: Patricia Lessard singled home Caitlin Logston with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to help Forest Hills split a doubleheader with Rangeley in Jackman.

Sydney Royce hit a two-run homer and Amber Morrill doubled for the Lakers in their 12-8 game one win. Lessard, Linda Riley, Madison Cuddy and Mery-lee Brown all doubled for the Tigers (2-3) in game two. Blayke Morin had two triples for the Lakers (1-2).

GIRLS LACROSSE

MESSALONSKEE 14, OXFORD HILLS 3: Ally Turner picked up four goals and assisted on four others as Messalonskee defeated Oxford Hills in a KVAC lacrosse game at Thomas College.

Lydia Dexter chipped in with three goals and two assists for the Eagles (3-0) while India Languet added two goals and two assists. Sydni Collier and Cassidy McNaughton made two saves apiece in goal.

BOYS LACROSSE

LAWRENCE 5, LINCOLN ACADEMY 4 (OT): Gunner McAllister’s goal in overtime lifted the Bulldogs in Fairfield.

McAllister had two goals and an assist for Lawrence (2-2), while Connor Martin had a goal and three assists. Aiden Strickland made 10 saves for the Bulldogs.

MT. BLUE 7, ERSKINE 6: Reed Wells scored three goals and Liam Welch added two goals and an assist to lead the Cougars in Farmington.

Joe Bowering also had two goals for Mt. Blue (2-2). Josh Reed scored four goals to pace Erskine (0-5). Jake Peavey had 17 saves for the Eagles while Alex Gilbert had 13 for Mt. Blue.
