Chainsaw class, April 23-24, in Jefferson
The Midcoast Conservancy will offer a chainsaw safety class at Hidden Valley Nature Center. By the end of the class, students will be able to properly maintain saws and use them safely to buck firewood, fell trees and perform trail work. Students don’t need a chainsaw. The cost is $150. Watching for Woodcocks, 7:15 p.m. April 14, in Boothbay Harbor
Come to the Boothbay Region Land Trust’s Zak Preserve to watch the courtship dance by the seldom-seen woodcock. Learn about the life of the woodcock. Participants will meet at the trail-head parking lot on Route 27 in Boothbay, 5.3 miles north of the traffic light in Boothbay Harbor.
