The family of the Hollis man who fell to his death at Maine Medical Center on Tuesday evening has retained an attorney.

WCSH-TV reported Thursday that Portland attorney Daniel G. Lilley is representing the estate of 43-year-old Paul Cady, who fell from a sixth floor window at the hospital.

Lilley didn’t return a message seeking comment Thursday night.

Lilley told the TV station that Cady’s family is seeking answers into how he made it through a window and fell six stories. For the time being, the family only is interested in getting answers, he said.

“Hopefully, they were watching as closely as they can for the safety of their patients,” Lilly told WCSH-TV, referring to hospital officials. “We’re not making any claims that there are any problems at the moment, except to say we are interested in what they find.”

Cady’s daughter, Miranda Cady, has said in a message posted on a Gofundme page created to raise money for Cady’s medical expenses and now his for funeral that her father, who was recovering from brain injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident, was disoriented and trying to get home to his family.

Portland Police and the state Division of Licensing and Regulatory Services are investigating Cady’s death.
