Police on Thursday charged a Biddeford woman and a man from Massachusetts with trafficking in heroin and crack cocaine.
Police arrested Kelly A. Anderson, 49, of Biddeford and Marquis T. Nevis, 36, of Attleboro, Massachusetts, following a traffic stop on the Maine Turnpike in York.
For the past six months, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency has been investigating drug dealing from Anderson’s home in Biddeford. Police say Anderson would drive to Lowell, Massachusetts, to purchase heroin and crack cocaine, then return with the drugs to be repackaged and sold.
State Police troopers and MDEA agents stopped Anderson’s car at 10 p.m. as it was returning from a trip to Lowell and a police dog indicated the presence of drugs. Police seized 21 grams of heroin and 60 grams of crack cocaine, worth a combined $10,000, police said.
Police also seized $3,400 in suspected drug proceeds.
The pair are being held in York County Jail on $10,000 bail.
