The Maine State Police were investigating a report of a man stabbed in the chest at an East Pittston address on Saturday evening, but few details were released.

Police were sent to a historic multi-family home at 1135 East Pittston Road about 6:19 p.m., according to an emergency alert. The alert said a man had suffered a stab wound to the chest, the alleged stabber had fled the scene and troopers were en route to the building.

Police were seen investigating at that home, which is known as Moody Mansion or Konig Villa, a multi-family mansion in East Pittston, on Saturday. The Queen Anne-style home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and it was built in 1890 as a summer home for a rich Broolyn couple. Since then, it has been used as a boarding house and a take-out restaurant.

Details on the case were scant on Sunday. An intake officer at the Kennebec County jail in Augusta said that nobody linked to the case had been booked into the jail as of Sunday morning, and law enforcement spokesmen have been mum.

On Saturday night, Lt. Brian Harris, a spokesman for the state police, referred questions to the state attorney general’s office. Tim Feeley, a spokesman for Attorney General Janet Mills, said that night that he had no details on the incident and he didn’t immediately return a Sunday morning call seeking comment.
