WATERVILLE — The City Council on Tuesday voted to demolish a vacant former Greyhound bus terminal near Robert LaFleur Municipal Airport.

The building, on Airport Road, is owned by the city and is deteriorating badly. The roof leaks and mold is growing inside, City Manager Mike Roy said recently. According to Roy, it was most recently used to store furniture for people in need.

Because of its poor condition, the building is considered an eyesore for flights coming in and out of the airport, according to the resolution authorizing its demolition.

The council voted unanimously and without discussion to tear the building down.
