BATH — Oscar Mayer has the Wienermobile. L.L. Bean has its Bootmobile. Now, the Maine Maritime Museum is getting a Lobstermobile.

The Lobstermobile is due for its official debut Tuesday at the museum in Bath. The vehicle is a red Volkswagen Beetle that’s topped with a giant, red lobster.

The "lobstermobile" pictured in its former incarnation as a promotional vehicle for the Florida restaurant Boston Lobster Feast. The vehicle has been acquired by the Maine Maritime Museum.

The crustacean-topped car served as the official vehicle of Orlando restaurant Boston Lobster Feast before being donated.

It made stops in Georgia, South Carolina, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania and New York City en route to Maine, where it’s being retired.
