COLUMBIA FALLS — The Downeast Salmon Federation’s 15th Annual Smelt Fry is taking over Columbia Falls with a celebration of all things smelt.

The main event is a $5 smelt fry dinner served from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Wreaths Across America building, which used to be a local elementary school. The event also includes art displays, a fly-tying demonstration and crafts. Moose stew will also be served.

Tours of the Pleasant River Hatchery at the Wild Salmon Resource Center and the Heritage Fish Camp are also available.
