Mid-Maine Technical Center students recently competed in 25 competitions at the SkillsUSA Championships. The event was hosted by Eastern Maine Community College and United Technology Center in Bangor, according to a news release from the center. More than 600 students representing 23 career and technical schools throughout the state participated. The SkillsUSA Championships is sponsored annually by the Maine Chapter of SkillsUSA. The Gold Medal winners will represent Maine in the National SkillsUSA Championships set for June 22-26 in Louisville, Ky.

Gold medalists: Kacy Boutout, firefighting, Winslow; Kyle Bernier, related technical math, Messalonskee; Evan Garbati-Stanichuk, information technology services, Waterville; Nicholas Labun, cabinetmaking, Messalonskee; and Denasia Peavey, preschool teaching assistant, Winslow.

Silver medalists: Benjamin Misner, precision machining, Waterville; team Christopher Motley, Lawrence, and William Tiner, Waterville, digital cinema production.

Bronze medalists: Jacob Doyon, electrical construction wiring, Messalonskee; Kennedy Glidden, medical math, Lawrence; Tristian Jennings, medical terminology, Messalonskee; Hillary Libby, carpentry, Winslow; Shawn Packard, job interview, Waterville; Randall Richards, collision repair technology, Lawrence; Tabatha Ross, photography, Messalonskee; and Tyler Tompkins, collision refinishing technology, Lawrence.
