at its Damariscotta gallery
River Arts, 241 U.S. Route One in Damariscotta, shows its new exhibition, “Artists’ Choice” through March 26.
The exhibit includes 90 works by Maine artists in a variety of media, including sculpture and fine crafts.
Some of the artists include Karen Pettengill, of Pownal; Joan Freiman, of Washington; Linda Packard, of Bangor; Mark Reilly, of Boothbay; Bruce Bachelder, of Damariscotta; and Robin Swennes, of Kennebunk.
Juror for the show is Robert Colburn, curator and manager of the Bayview Galleries in Brunswick and Camden. Colburn is also a painter who has exhibited at Asymmetrick Arts, Cape Cottage Gallery, The Clown, Bayview Galleries and others. He studied at Bowdoin College with artists such as Thomas Cornell, Ann Harris and Anne Lofquist. He describes his present artistic philosophy as a mixture inspired by both old and contemporary masters.
River Arts holds about 10 juried shows each year, which are open to all Maine artists.
