I am sure every sports-minded person in the world saw the expression on Richard Sherman’s face when the Patriots Malcolm Butler stole the Super Bowl from Seattle.
I also gained considerable respect for him when, at the very end of the game, Sherman was the first person to bust through the offense line to shake Brady’s hand after the Patriots quarterback took the final knee drop. It was a very nice gesture.
It so reminded me of that wonderful old ballad, “The Devil Went Down To Georgia.” When Johnny (Brady) outplayed the devil (Sherman) in the Fiddlers Super Bowl. “The Devil bowed his head because he knew that he’d been beat and he laid that golden fiddle on the ground at Johnny’s feet. Johnny said, ‘Devil, just come on back if you ever want to try again, I done showed you once I’m the best that’s ever been.'”
