PITTSFIELD — The town of Pittsfield and the Kennebec-Somerset Transition Team will hold a special resources and jobs fair from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Warsaw Middle School gym, 167 School St. More than 150 positions will be offered, and many local and regional employers are hiring, according to a news release from the town of Pittsfield.
The town and the transition team have held seven regional job fairs for Somerset and Kennebec counties as well as Sebasticook Valley in May of each year. An eighth regional job fair is planned for May.
This special resources and jobs fair is to assist those being laid off by a regional manufacturing company in the community because of reduction in floor space. In addition, other companies in the region have had layoffs so this resources and job fair takes place at a strategic time, according to the news release.
Many resource materials also will be available at the fair.
The storm date for the resources and jobs fair will be Thursday, Feb. 19, at the same location and time. For more information, cal the Pittsfield Town Office at 487-3136.
