Area students looking for financial help with college have an opportunity to meet with counselors for assistance in applying for aid. An in-person help session is scheduled at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield, according to a news release by Sen. Roger Katz, R-Kennebec.
“It’s that time of year again — time for college students to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. This application can help open the door for federal, state, and private scholarship help. The earlier students apply, the more funds they may be eligible to receive,” said Katz in the release. “Trying to navigate the system isn’t easy, and by sitting down with a counselor at this session, students can make sure they are not leaving any possible financial aid on the table.”
