BUCKFIELD — Cody Laweryson scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Valley boys basketball team to a 77-43 victory over Buckfield on Monday night.

Collin Miller scored 18 points and Luke Malloy added 12 to lead the Cavaliers (1-0) as well. Miller also had 10 rebounds.

Jared Eastman led Buckfield (0-1) with 11 points.

MADISON 79, CARRABEC 30: Chase Malloy scored 13 points and had four steals to lead the Bulldogs in Madison. Derek LeBlanc scored eight points for Madison (2-0) as well.

Isaac Vaillancourt scored eight points to lead Carrabec (0-2).

TELSTAR 70, MT. ABRAM 49: The rebels closed out the game on a 43-16 run to earn the Mountain Valley Conference victory.

Mike Dougherty led all scorers with 30 points while Cam Dike chipped in with 10 for Telstar (1-1).

Quinton Hanna scored 23 to lead the Roadrunners (1-1).

WINTHROP 70, MONMOUTH 43: Ben Allen and Jacob Hickey each scored 13 points to lead the Ramblers to the MVC victory. Anthony Owens added 10 points for Winthrop (2-0) as well.

LISBON 65, OAK HILL 64: Lisbon (1-1) survived a wild final 30 seconds to hold off Oak Hill (1-1).

The Greyhounds had a three-point lead with 30 seconds remaining when Dalton Therrien stole the ball, drove down court and made a basket while getting he fouled. He missed the free throw, yet Lisbon could not take advantage after getting fouled as the Greyhounds missed the ensuing foul shots.

Oak Hill had two opportunities in the closing seconds but could not get the go-ahead basket. Adam Merrill led the Raiders with a game-high 20 points, while Noah Carter paced Lisbon with 12.
