Author Roberta R. Barnes will be signing copies of her new children’s fantasy book. Set in the magical Annan Woods, “What Tail?” is the fascinating story of an animal called “Ve,” whose secret makes him unlike all other animals. Everyone forgets to remember what he looks like when he or she is not looking at him; they even forget to remember how long his tail is, or if he has a tail.

Despite his secret Ve tries to make friends with a little girl named Misty, a fox called Silver Tip, a weasel called Wolvie, a very wise old owl and a few others. This leads to the most unexpected adventures, which teach children the value in not judging and extending kindness to others.

Through her book, Barnes hopes young readers experience the fun in using their own imagination and in the process see that one’s actions are more important than appearances.

Barnes is Gendai Reiki-ho and Komyo Reiki Kai Shihan and an herbalist. She founded the Natural Healing & Learning Center in Windsor in 2002.
