BREWER — The Messalonskee girls soccer team erased a 2-0 halftime deficit to hand Brewer their first loss of the season with a 3-2 win Tuesday.
McKenna Brodeaur scored the game-winner with just five minutes remaining in the contest, while Cassidy McPherson and Lauren Pickett also scored for Messalonskee (2-3-1).
Gretchen Wright scored both of the Brewer (4-1-1) goals, while Mikayla Henderson made 19 saves in net. Taylor Easler stopped 12 shots for the Eagles.
NOKOMIS 1, LEAVITT 0: Anna Smestad scored off a cross from the left side by Cassie Conner with 19:15 remaining in the first half to give the Warriors the win in Newport.
Shayla Kelley stopped all 10 shots she faced for Nokomis (3-3-0), while Angela Daigle made 16 saves for Leavitt (1-3-2).
ERSKINE 3, OCEANSIDE 0: Avery Bond played a part in all three Eagle goals to lead Erskine to the win at Pendleton Field.
Bond scored both of the the Eagles’ first-half goals — with assist going to Mackenzie Gayer and Kaylee Porter — and in the second half half she set up Christina Belanger for a score.
Cass Ray made nine saves in net for Erskine (5-1-0), while Kalyn Grover had six saves for Oceanside (2-3-0).
WINSLOW 2, GARDINER 1: Madison Morneault’s goal off a direct kick midway through the second half earned the Black Raiders a win in Winslow.
Cassie Roderick headed in the other Winslow (2-4-0) goal off an assist from Meg Nadeau in the fifth minute, while Emma Hickey tied the game for Gardiner (0-4-2) 20 minutes later.
The Raiders’ Hillary Libby and the Tigers’ Lauren Chadwick finished with 12 and 10 saves, respectively, in net.
RICHMOND 6, BUCKFIELD 2: The Bobcats jumped out to a 4-0 lead by halftime and never looked back to secure a 6-2 win over Buckfield in a Western D game in Richmond.
Meranda Martin and Amber Loon each poured in a pair of goals for Richmond (6-0-0), while Kelsea Anair had a goal and an assist.
Destiny Anair added a goal for the Bobcats, Cameron Hurley had an assist and Kelsie Obi made four saves in net.
Brianna Darren and Kadi Litchfield each scored goals for Buckfield (3-2-1).
FIELD HOCKEY
LAWRENCE 3, BANGOR 0: The Bulldogs stayed undefeated with a shutout of the Rams in Bangor.
Makenna Rogers had two goals and an assist for Lawrence (9-0-0), while Lauren Watson had a goal and an assist and Lilla Tilton-Flood chipped in with an asssit.
Rachel Luc had 16 saves for Bangor (2-6-0).
CONY 2, HAMPDEN 0: Arika Brochu scored two goals for the Rams in a KVAC A win over the Broncos in Hampden.
Cari Hopkins added an assist for Cony (5-3).
Ruby Ramsay had seven saves for Hampden (1-7).
