Palermo Library receives grant for computer and software
PALERMO — The Palermo Library Guild recently received a $2,000 grant to install Microsoft Word on public computers and to purchase a new staff computer with updated software. This grant is made from the Saxifrage Opportunity Grants Fund of the Maine Community Foundation at the recommendation of the Waldo County Committee advisors, according to a press release.
“This grant will not only help the patrons with the Microsoft Word Software but the staff will be thrilled to have a new replacement for the twelve-year-old staff computer,” said Betty Holzer, Acting President, in the release. “Many patrons come in with a word document on a thumb drive only to find out that it’s not compatible. Microsoft Word will be a great addition.”
Summer library programming includes creating Fairy Container Gardens, “Fizz, Boom, Bang,” a nationwide reading program, Genealogy and Ancestry, a five-week program, and a monthly Legos Club meeting.
