Students in an architecture class at the University of Maine at Augusta got a tour of the South Parish Congregational Church last week as part of a drawing assignment.

Retired architect Ken Barnard conducted the tour for students in Eric Stark’s class. Their assignment was to draw the sanctuary of the church, which is located near the corner of State and Bridge streets in Augusta.

The church was built in 1865 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It is affiliated with the United Church of Christ.
