A secretary at Westbrook’s Canal Elementary School was surprised Monday with a statewide honor.
The Maine Principals’ Association named June Lentz the 2014 Secretary of the Year.
She found out about the award at a school-wide assembly.
“Mrs. Lentz is determined, focused and thrives on the challenge of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and with a giant smile,” said Richard Durost, executive director of the Maine Principals’ Association, in a press release.
Lentz was nominated by Kathryn Hersom, the former principal of Canal school and now the district coordinator for No Child Left Behind.
