WATERVILLE — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday will present U.S. Sen. Susan Collins with the 2013 Spirit of Enterprise Award at the local chamber’s lunch speaker series.
Collins is the featured speaker at the Leading Women’s Luncheon, a program organized and hosted by Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Anthem.
The enterprise award, to be presented by Geoff O’Hara, regional representative of the U.S. Chamber, is given annually to recognize a member of Congress for supporting chamber positions on votes it has identified as key business issues, according to a press release from the local chamber.
The awards ceremony will be before Collins speaks.
The luncheon series features successful women. While it focuses on women’s experiences and challenges in pursuing careers, men and women equally, are welcome to attend the events, according to the release.
The 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. lunch is at O’Brien’s Event Center on Main Street.
The cost to register for the event is $20 for local chamber members through the end of this week, and $25 general admission. The fee includes admission and lunch. Pre-registration is preferred as space is limited. The chamber asks those who want to register contact info@midmainechamber.com or call 873-3315.
