BINGHAM — Garelick Farms has selected Jurney Beane, a Quimby Middle School sixth-grader, as the Somerset County winner of the “Pure Happiness” Design Contest. Beane will receive a $500 savings bond and $500 for the art department at Quimby Middle School to use for art supplies, or any other education-related expenses.
Earlier this spring, Garelick Farms invited Maine students in grades k-six to submit illustrations depicting what Pure Happiness means to them for the “Pure Happiness” design contest. Sixteen winners were selected from more than 500 entrants.
Beane was chosen as the Somerset County winner. “To me, music is happiness. If I have a bad day, I just go home, put in my ear buds and I just get happier. Well, as I said, music keeps my heart beating,” Beabe said in a news release. To view a gallery of the winner’s entries, visit www.garelickfarms.com/happy.
