CLINTON

The Clinton Memorial Day parade will start at 10 a.m. Monday. Parade lineup is set for 9:45 a.m. in front of the Post Office and will proceed to Monuments on Route 100.

Willett-McKenney Post 186 American Legion invites all veterans of Clinton, Benton, Marching units and bands, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts wishing to participate in paying our respects to our fallen veterans.

FAIRFIELD

The American Legion Auxiliary will host its Memorial Day parade in memory of our veterans at 11 a.m. Parade lineup will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Fairfield Community Center.

Participants are encouraged to decorated bicycles, wagons, strollers or anything with wheels.

Prizes will be awarded at Community Center prior to Parade. The contest is sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary.

Luncheon will be held at American Legion Post 14, Main St. for the community and parade participants.

NORRIDGEWOCK

A Memorial Day parade is planned for 9 a.m. Monday starting at VFW Post 7866 at Oosoola. All groups and veterans are welcome to march and/or watch the parade.

OAKLAND

Oakland’s Memorial Day parade will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at Messalonskee High School. Those who wish to participate should gather in the school parking lot no later than 8:30 a.m.

The parade starts at the high school, on Oak Street, turns left onto Pleasant Street, right onto Main Street. The parade will stop at the Oakland Memorial for a brief presentation, then continue down Church Street and turn left on Belgrade Avenue and will end at the cemetery.

At the cemetery there will be a dedication at the Civil War/ World War I and World War II monuments and from there the dedications will end at the Monument closest to the boat landing.

SIDNEY

Sidney’s Memorial Day parade, celebration and picnic is set for Monday. Led by a bagpiper, the parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the Transfer Station, go up Middle Road to the Town Office. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Veterans and the All American Dance School will participate; all are welcome to join.

There will be a ceremony with MG Bill Libby awarding Service Medals and Certificates to Veterans, a wreath will be laid, the Spirit of America awards will be presented and a cookout lunch will be available.

UNITY

A Memorial Day parade will begin at 9 a.m. Monday on School Street at the preschool. Anyone wishing to participate should be there at 8:30 a.m.

VASSALBORO

The Vassalboro Business Association recently announced a Memorial Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the Winslow/Vassalboro town line on Route 32 (Reny’s).

It will follow the new flag route south on Route 32 (Maine Street), through East Vassalboro, just past China Lake. It is about a three-mile route.

The parade will stop at the Monument (in front of Dr. Burke’s office) for the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of a rousing rendition of “You’re A Grand Ole Flag.”

Everyone is invited to join the parade in decorated cars, bikes, floats or tractors. Music will probably come from car’s CD players. There will be an assortment of small flags for anyone to wave available at the start of the parade.

WATERVILLE

A Memorial Day parade is set for 10 a.m.-noon Monday and will start at the Two-Cent Bridge at the Head of Falls and end at Veterans’ Memorial Park where guest speakers will address the crowd.
